Assam Intensifies Security Measures Ahead of Independence Day

As Independence Day approaches, Assam has ramped up security, particularly at Guwahati railway station. Authorities employ RPF and dog squads to prevent any threats. As the nation gears up for its 78th Independence Day, Assam has significantly strengthened its security measures, especially in Guwahati. Vigilance has been heightened at the railway station, with Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel and dog squads on alert for any potential threats.

Both RPF and Government Railway Police (GRP) have increased checks at the Guwahati railway station and on trains to preempt any untoward incidents. Security operations include patrolling railway tracks and inspecting luggage, entry, and exit points.

Sub-Inspector Mohammad AB Khan of the RPF in Guwahati confirmed the escalated security arrangements, emphasizing the continuous patrolling and readiness to respond to any situation. In a related note, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called on citizens to take part in the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, urging everyone to hoist the national flag at their homes and to change their social media profile pictures to the Tricolour.
