Fire in Fatehpur Beri: Fourteen Rescued from Blaze in Residential Building
A fire at a four-storey residential building in Fatehpur Beri, Delhi, led to the rescue of 14 people, including women and children, on Sunday. The blaze, caused by a short circuit, left two suffering burn injuries while others faced smoke inhalation issues. Vehicles and electric meters were also destroyed.

Fourteen people, including six women and four children, were admitted to AIIMS Trauma Centre and Safdarjung Hospital after being rescued from a fire in a four-storey residential building in Fatehpur Beri, early Sunday morning, police reported. Two individuals suffered burn injuries while others experienced breathing problems due to excessive smoke, according to the police.
The Delhi Fire Service stated that they received a fire alert from Jagbir Colony in Asola Village, Fatehpur Beri, and immediately dispatched three fire tenders to the scene. Preliminary investigations by Delhi Police revealed the fire started on the ground floor due to a short circuit.
The blaze also consumed several vehicles and electric meters in the building's stilt parking area. In total, 10 electric meters, six motorcycles, and two scooters were destroyed in the fire, police said. A resident, Neelam, recounted her escape, stating she had to jump from the first floor while others were rescued through the roofs and staircases by police.
