Uttarakhand CM Celebrates Independence Day, Pledges Development and Tribute to Heroes

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday extended his greetings to the people of Uttarakhand on the eve of the country's 78th Independence Day, paying tribute to freedom fighters and soldiers who sacrificed for the nation, according to an official release. Dhami emphasized the state's commitment to becoming prosperous and self-reliant.
Dhami highlighted Uttarakhand's achievements, noted in the 2023-24 SDG report by NITI Aayog, where the state topped the Sustainable Development Goals rankings. He mentioned that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the Uttarakhand Global Investor Summit-2023 attracted investment agreements worth Rs 3.5 lakh crore, with Rs 81,000 crore already materialized.
The Chief Minister also remarked on rapid developments in tourism, infrastructure, and aviation. Projects include the Delhi-Dehradun Elevated Road, Vande Bharat Express, and international airports in Jolly Grant and Pantnagar. Efforts toward inclusive development and women's empowerment, through schemes like Lakhpati Didi, were also cited. He stressed Uttarakhand's proud military tradition and the state's support for martyred soldiers' families.
