A Delhi Police Sub Inspector assigned to Kalkaji has been remanded to judicial custody following his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on charges of bribery. He was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe from a complainant.

The CBI had registered a case on August 13 based on a complaint against the sub-inspector, who allegedly demanded Rs 20,000 for resolving a harassment complaint filed by a woman. The amount was later reduced to Rs 15,000.

According to Advocate Rahul Aggarwal, the sub-inspector had threatened to impose multiple charges against the client unless the bribe was paid. Subsequent searches at the officer's residence and office resulted in the discovery of incriminating evidence. The CBI laid a trap and apprehended the accused during the transaction.
