Russia Accuses U.S. of Tacit Approval in Nord Stream Attack

Russia's ambassador to Washington claimed Ukraine wouldn't have attacked the Nord Stream gas pipelines without implicit U.S. approval. Despite a CIA warning to Ukrainian President Zelenskiy, Ukraine's top military commander reportedly greenlit the 2022 bombing. Russia vows to identify and punish those responsible.

Russia's ambassador to Washington stated on Friday that Ukraine's attack on the Nord Stream gas pipelines had occurred with the tacit approval of the United States. He emphasized Russia's intent to identify and bring to justice those responsible for the attack.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Ukraine's highest-ranking military officer approved the 2022 assault on the pipelines. This approval came despite a warning from the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy against proceeding with the bombing.

"They seek to shift all responsibility to their Ukrainian puppets," Russian Ambassador Anatoly Antonov said in a statement concerning the Nord Stream incident. "We will seek to identify the real perpetrators of the bombing and punish them."
