Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav defended the state's decision to incorporate books by RSS-linked authors in college libraries, emphasizing the importance of fostering diverse reading habits. Yadav addressed the issue while speaking with journalists at the 'Bharatiya Bhasha Mahotsav' held at Madhavrao Sapre Sangrahalaya in Bhopal.

"I enjoyed attending the 'Bharatiya Bhasha Mahotsav' organized at Madhavrao Sapre Sangrahalaya in Bhopal. Hindi is an official language of India, but we should respect all languages spoken in the country. This is why Prime Minister Narendra Modi implemented the New Education Policy (NEP 2020), allowing studies in regional languages. I extend my greetings for the Mahostav," he stated. Regarding the inclusion of RSS-linked books, he added, "Libraries in excellence colleges now feature various books. Orders have been issued to purchase different authors' works, including those in various languages. The decision aims to increase the habit of reading diverse books."

Yadav further explained that changes to the curriculum follow a distinct procedure and committee recommendations. "The recent decision focuses on stocking libraries with a variety of books. If anyone misinterprets this, so be it. We believe all book types should be available," he said. In a separate remark, Yadav criticized the Trinamool Congress (TMC)-led West Bengal government for its handling of the Kolkata RG Kar Medical College and Hospital rape-murder case. He urged prompt action and condemned what he perceived as political maneuvering by the West Bengal government.
