AAP's Atishi Confident About Winning Haryana Assembly Polls

Delhi Minister Atishi of the Aam Aadmi Party expressed confidence in the party's preparedness for the upcoming Haryana Assembly polls, while also discussing the election schedule for Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana. The Chief Election Commissioner announced the polling dates and the nomination deadlines for both states.

Delhi Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi expressed confidence in the party's readiness for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections. She stated that the party is fully prepared and has been holding public rallies with significant attendance. Atishi made these remarks to the media following the announcement of the election dates for Haryana and the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

"AAP will strongly contest the elections in Haryana and expects to emerge victorious. Arvind Kejriwal, being a native of Haryana, adds an emotional appeal to our campaign," Atishi said. Regarding potential alliances, she noted that decisions would be finalized after Arvind Kejriwal's release from jail. She also highlighted the importance of the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir elections, which mark a significant event after a decade.

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar announced that Haryana will hold its assembly elections in a single phase on October 1, while Jammu and Kashmir will conduct elections in three phases from September 18 to October 1. The vote counting for both states is scheduled for October 4. Kumar emphasized the need for impartial and transparent enforcement by election bodies.

The timeline for nominations includes August 27 for the first phase, September 5 for the second, and September 12 for the third phase in Jammu and Kashmir. Elections in the region come after a ten-year gap since the last assembly polls in 2014.
