The chairman of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), Priyank Kanoongo, raised serious concerns on Sunday about a 'radical curriculum' and the use of 'Pakistan-published books' in government-funded madrasas in Bihar.

In a post on X, Kanoongo specifically mentioned the book 'Talimul Islam,' alleging that it labels non-Islamic individuals as 'Kafirs.' He accused the Bihar government of not providing official data on Hindu children enrolled in these madrasas while criticizing the involvement of UNICEF India in preparing the curriculum.

Kanoongo condemned this as an act of 'appeasement' by both UNICEF and the Madrasa Board, advocating for a United Nations investigation into the issue. He also called for the dissolution of the Madrasa Board, arguing that madrasas are not suitable for the basic education of children.
