Telangana Seeks Central Funds to Boost Tourism

Telangana's Tourism Minister, Jupally Krishna Rao, appealed to Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat for funds to advance the state's tourism sector. Shekhawat pledged full cooperation. Telangana is focusing on eco-tourism, water bodies, and more, aiming to be a top destination under a new tourism policy led by CM Revanth Reddy.

Telangana's Minister for Tourism and Culture, Jupally Krishna Rao, met with Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Saturday, urging him to allocate funds to support the state's tourism sector. Rao highlighted Telangana's abundant resources and explained that with adequate funding, the state's tourism sector could reach new heights, according to an official statement.

Union Minister Shekhawat assured full cooperation for the development of tourism in Telangana. Rao stated that the state government is exploring all possible avenues and is moving forward with a special plan for tourism development.

Rao mentioned that Telangana is well-suited for eco-tourism, water bodies, temple tourism, and health and wellness tourism. The state government has already allocated funds in the annual budget to support this effort. He emphasized that cooperation from the central government is also critical. A new tourism policy under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy aims to make Telangana the top destination in the country.

Accompanying Rao were Telangana Tourism Department Chief Secretary Vani Prasad and Tourism Development Corporation MD Prakash Reddy, among others. Rao also addressed questions about the demolition of illegal constructions in the state, stating, "Action will be taken against those who encroach on government properties. It is the government's responsibility to protect public properties." He noted that mistakes by previous governments led to encroachments on government lands, and steps will be taken to safeguard these resources for future generations.

Rao concluded by stating that government systems are functioning independently and that officials have complete freedom to act. (ANI)
