Assam CM Reports Pushback of Bangladeshi Nationals Amidst Border Security Efforts

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Wednesday that police detected three Bangladeshi nationals at the Indo-Bangladesh border and subsequently pushed them back. Sarma revealed this update in a post on X, emphasizing the state's continued focus on safeguarding borders against infiltration. According to the Chief Minister, the detection occurred at 00:50 hours.
In his statement, Sarma identified the Bangladeshi nationals as Md Zubair Sheikh, Juel Sheikh, and Ruma Khatun. He noted that similar incidents had been happening, citing that on August 25, he declared that Hindu individuals were not attempting to enter India from Bangladesh, whereas 35 Muslim infiltrators were arrested last month.
The Chief Minister stressed that Hindu individuals in Bangladesh are fighting for their rights and security, not seeking to migrate to India. He reiterated the absence of any detected Hindu infiltrators and mentioned that Hindus are urging the Indian Prime Minister to advocate for their safety in Bangladesh amidst ongoing protests for civil service reform in the neighboring country.
