Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed his deep sorrow over the tragic deaths of four individuals following a landslide in Vijayawada's Mogalrajapuram area.
The Chief Minister announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the families of the victims, emphasizing the government's support during this difficult time. Meghna, Bolem Lakshmi, Lalu, and Annapoorna lost their lives when a boulder struck their homes amidst ongoing heavy rains.
Naidu has urged residents and officials to remain vigilant due to the forecast of continued heavy rainfall over the next few days. During a review meeting, he directed authorities to keep all departments on high alert, declare school holidays in affected areas, install warning boards, and send alert messages to locals. He also stressed the importance of preparing for emergencies such as power lines and tree collapses.
