Indian Army and IAF Partner with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya

The Indian Army and the Indian Air Force (IAF) have entered into an agreement with Vadodara-based Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya, a move Defence Minister Rajnath Singh described as a 'monumental partnership' aimed at bolstering the logistics backbone of the armed forces in line with the vision of 'Aatmanirbharta' in defence.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will enable both services to acquire higher expertise in logistics, fostering in-house proficiency and contributing to national development plans like the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan 2021 and the National Logistics Policy 2022, according to a defence ministry statement.
Defence Minister Singh emphasized the role of logistics in military operations and national security, highlighting the need for a seamless movement of troops and supplies. This partnership with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya is expected to significantly enhance logistics training and innovation, thus supporting the overarching goal of self-reliance in the defence sector.
