In response to the anticipated protests over the alleged illegal construction of the Sanjauli mosque, a significant police presence has been established at the Dhalli tunnel in Shimla. Law enforcement officers are meticulously inspecting vehicles to avert any potential disturbances during the demonstrations, which are set to commence at 11 am today, organized by Hindu groups.

Sanjeev Kumar, the Superintendent of Police for Shimla, emphasized that while stakeholders have committed to peaceful protests, the police are leaving no stone unturned to ensure peace and order. Speaking to ANI, Kumar stated, "We've implemented procedures under BNSS 163. The situation remains calm, with daily activities continuing as usual. Our deployment is a preventative measure, including drone surveillance to collect evidence if necessary. We urge citizens to adhere to the law and maintain peace."

The previous night, police conducted a peace march from Sanjauli Chowk to the Dhalli tunnel. Kumar highlighted the surveillance of social media to prevent misinformation and assured that any disruptions would be met with legal action. He urged residents to remain calm and avoid any actions that could escalate tensions. The police's primary focus is on maintaining peace, with investigations into any social media-fueled unrest ongoing. The SP reassured that the authorities are prepared to act based on the situation's developments and stressed the importance of preserving order.
