Gaza's Fuel Crisis: Turning Plastic Waste into Lifesaving Fuel
In Gaza, Palestinians are converting plastic waste into fuel due to a blockade by Israel preventing the entry of gasoline. Despite the dangers and challenges, this makeshift solution has become vital for survival amidst ongoing conflicts.
Amid the escalating conflict in Gaza, Palestinians are finding innovative solutions to survive the fuel blockade imposed by Israel. Forced to improvise, they are transforming plastic waste into a valuable source of fuel.
Mostafa Mosleh, a 16-year-old Gazan, braves dangerous conditions to collect plastic remnants from collapsed structures. 'I'm afraid of reconnaissance by the Israeli military and rubble falling,' he states.
His relative, Mahmoud Mosleh, has devised a method to convert these plastics into gasoline. 'Thank God, we managed to turn plastic into gasoline and fuel,' the 35-year-old explains. Despite the hazards of burns and bombardment, Gazans persist, driven by necessity.
