A tragic incident during metro tunnel construction in Patna has claimed two lives and injured six others, prompting the Bihar government to order an investigation. BJP's Bihar Minister Nitin Nabin stated that both the District Magistrate and the Metro authorities have been tasked with conducting a thorough inquiry and submitting their findings.
The incident occurred on Monday night due to technical reasons, according to information received by the minister. Patna's Pirbahore Thana SHO, Abdul Halim, confirmed that a machine fault in the tunnel led to the fatal accident, impacting workers from Odisha.
In response, Odisha Labour Minister Ganesh Ram Khuntia has assured compensation for the victims' families, emphasizing the gravity of the situation while communicating with Bihar officials. Further actions await the inquiry report's submission.
