Gujarat's GERI Propels Construction Progress with Advanced Testing

Under Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Gujarat's GERI has bolstered the construction sector, conducting over 6.14 lakh tests and generating Rs 184 crore in revenue since 2021. With modern equipment and numerous labs statewide, GERI supports public and private projects with quality testing in soil, concrete, and asphalt.

In a bid to fortify the construction sector, the Gujarat Engineering Research Institute (GERI) in Vadodara, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, has successfully tested over 6.14 lakh samples since 2021-22, generating substantial revenue and contributing to infrastructure growth, according to the state's CMO.

Water Resources Minister Kunvarji Bavaliya disclosed that multiple operational labs across Gujarat have effectively tested construction materials, raking in over Rs 184 crores. The initiative saw a progressive increase in both testing and revenue, with numbers rising from Rs 30 crore in 2021-22 to Rs 57.46 crore by January 2024-25.

Additionally, Minister of State Mukesh Patel emphasized the success in quality testing, especially in soil, concrete mix, and asphalt designs, enabled by state-of-the-art equipment and manpower. The government's establishment of 24 advanced labs ensures rigorous quality checks, affirming Gujarat's dedication to superior infrastructure projects.
