General Upendra Dwivedi, the Chief of Army Staff, led the Annual Wreath-Laying Ceremony at Noida Shaheed Smarak on Saturday, February 15, 2025. The occasion honored the sacrifices of Defence Services members, with notable attendees including AWWA President Sunita Dwivedi, distinguished veterans, and community leaders.

The Noida Shaheed Smarak, symbolizing pride and memorializing fallen heroes, continues to be an emblem of respect with icons like vintage air defence guns and naval missiles. Since its inception in 2002, it holds the distinction as the first Tri-Service memorial established by a township to honor war casualties.

In his address, General Dwivedi paid tribute to the fallen, praised the civil authorities and community for their support, and highlighted the importance of veterans. He stressed the need to remember their contributions and nurture future leaders in line with 'Viksit Bharat 2047.' A commemorative souvenir for 2025 was also released, and engagement with martyrs' families followed.

A solemn wreath-laying and a two-minute silence marked the ceremony, reinforcing its significance. Events like the Annual Wreath Laying Ceremony, Vijay Divas, and Dedication Day maintain the memorial's role in national remembrance and in celebrating those who served the nation.
