Gujarat Leads Fight Against AIDS at ASICON 2025 Inauguration

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the ASICON 2025 convention, focusing on AIDS eradication. Gujarat, with a Rs 23,385 crore health budget, is enhancing healthcare infrastructure. The state aims for an AIDS-free India by 2030, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals, alongside global and national HIV experts.

At the unveiling of the ASICON 2025 convention in Gujarat, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel emphasized the state's leadership in combating AIDS and enhancing healthcare. According to the Chief Minister's Office, Gujarat is pioneering efforts in India’s battle against AIDS.

Highlighting the state's health sector investment, CM Patel announced a budget of Rs 23,385 crore, reflecting a 16% rise aimed at bolstering healthcare facilities. This initiative follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi's holistic healthcare vision, which ensures medical services reach even the most remote areas.

The event also highlighted Gujarat’s goal of increasing life expectancy to 84 years by 2047, aligning with the 'Developed Gujarat Roadmap.' Under PM Modi's guidance, organizations work in Mission Mode against diseases like TB and cancer, complemented by customs duty exemptions on life-saving drugs.

ASICON 2025 attracts eminent HIV specialists from India and globally, sharing insights at the three-day convention. The opening ceremony saw figures like Dr. Dilip Mathai, Mayor Pratibha Jain, and former AIDS Society of India President Dr. Ishwar Gilada expressing commitment to achieving an AIDS-free India.
