India's food processing sector is poised for significant growth, with its market size projected to more than double to USD 700 billion by 2030. This surge is driven by an increasing demand for processed products, according to a report by industry body PHDCCI.
The report, titled 'India’s Agricultural Transformation: From Food Scarcity to Surplus', highlights that the market could further expand to USD 2,150 billion by 2047. This reflects a monumental shift in India's agricultural landscape.
Agriculture has maintained a steady growth rate of 3.9% from 2013-14 to 2023-24, playing a crucial role in the economy even during the pandemic. Exports have risen from over USD 39 billion in 2013-14 to more than USD 52 billion in 2022-23.
