The state-owned Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has announced a significant investment of Rs 2,500 crore in renewable energy projects across Madhya Pradesh. This strategic move will be carried out in phases aiming at enhancing the region's energy sustainability.

SECI has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Madhya Pradesh government to establish a 200 MW solar power project in Dhar as well as a 1,000 MWh battery storage project under the CPSU Scheme. The formal agreement was inked during the Global Investors Summit 2025 held in Bhopal.

The 200 MW solar project is part of a larger 500 MW agreement executed in 2023 with MP Power Management Company Ltd, for which SECI will supply electricity to the state over a 25-year period. This initiative signifies a robust commitment towards advancing renewable energy, seen as a cornerstone for sustainable development in the state.
