Biological E. Limited has joined hands with Bavarian Nordic to widen the reach of the Chikungunya Vaccine in low- and middle-income nations. The strategic partnership includes a transfer of technology for manufacturing and holds the potential for future collaboration on drug substance processes.

The partnership promises to enhance the manufacturing capacity at BE's Hyderabad facilities, creating up to 300 jobs. Following initial technology transfer, the companies will pursue regulatory approvals, paving the way for commercial production.

This agreement marks Bavarian Nordic's first step towards global expansion of its Chikungunya Vaccine, paralleling its approval as the first such vaccine for 12-year-olds and above in the US and receiving positive support from European regulators.
