China's Palm Olein Imports Dip in 2025
China's palm olein imports are projected to decrease by 300,000 metric tons in 2025, reaching about 2 million metric tons. The decrease is driven by a monthly demand reduction to 180,000-200,000 metric tons due to a recent price rise, according to industry expert Ryan Chen.

The import of palm olein by China is expected to decline in 2025, with projections indicating a decrease of 300,000 metric tons to approximately 2 million metric tons, a prominent palm oil industry source reports.
Ryan Chen, the director for the China CNF business at Cargil Investments, noted during an industry conference that the core demand for olein in China has dwindled to 180,000 to 200,000 metric tons per month.
This reduction in demand is largely attributed to the recent increase in prices, Chen elaborated further on how price fluctuations have impacted consumption patterns.
