In a decisive move aimed at addressing Delhi's infrastructure challenges, PWD Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh scrutinized ongoing projects during his visit to Defence Colony on Thursday. Accompanied by senior Public Works Department officials, the minister assessed a damaged 'puliya', which contributed to severe traffic congestion by remaining unrepaired for two years. He assured residents that repair work would commence by April, urging officials to expedite the tender process.

Underlining the significance of the problematic route, Singh highlighted its connectivity to Barapullah, a vital commuter corridor. He attributed the doubling of the project's original sanctioned cost to negligence by the preceding administration. In an assertive critique, Singh questioned the Kejriwal government's financial management, promising an investigation into public expenditure discrepancies.

BJP MLA Satish Upadhyay added to the chorus of criticism, spotlighting a broken statue of Shaheed Bhagat Singh in a local park, which had been neglected for three years. He accused the Aam Aadmi Party MLA, Somnath Bharti, of failing to address the issue. Upadhyay insisted on swift repairs, emphasizing his respect for Bhagat Singh and a commitment to actionable governance over mere political posturing.
