The parents of the RG Kar Medical College rape and murder victim arrived in Delhi on Thursday to seek justice after seven months of inaction. They met with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Director, expressing frustration over the delay and mismanagement in the case.

The victim's father criticized the misuse of taxpayer money, highlighting the lack of progress. He revealed communication with the Prime Minister, emphasizing the importance of public awareness regarding resource allocation inefficiencies. Discrepancies further marred the case with the family yet to receive a death certificate.

In a parallel development, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee announced a salary hike for state medical professionals. Addressing safety in hospitals, she honored the victim and urged male staff to safeguard female colleagues. The CM also tackled fake medicines and free treatment initiatives, offering broader financial support to medical staff.
