Transformative Projects and Women's Empowerment Unveiled in Odisha

Odisha's CM Mohan Charan Majhi announced Rs 160 crore of development projects in Anandpur, while the Subhadra Yojana's second installment, benefiting over a crore women, was celebrated on International Women's Day, showing the state's commitment to both infrastructure and women's empowerment.

On Sunday, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced a slew of developmental projects worth Rs 160 crore for Anandpur subdivision. Attending the 61st annual function of Anandpur College, his alma mater, Majhi inaugurated 16 projects valued at Rs 42 crore and laid foundation stones for projects worth an estimated Rs 118 crore.

Previously, on March 8, marking International Women's Day, CM Majhi highlighted the release of the second installment of Subhadra Yojana, a flagship government initiative. 'On this occasion, we released the 2nd instalment under Subhadra Yojana, aimed at empowering women economically,' Majhi conveyed, emphasizing its benefits to women.

Launched last year by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Subhadra Yojana aims to benefit over one crore Odisha women with Rs 50,000 over five years. Eligible women aged 21 to 60 receive Rs 10,000 annually in Aadhaar-linked accounts. On Friday, Odisha Deputy CM Pravati Parida confirmed the disbursement of Rs 5,024 crore to over one crore women.
