Three Judges Elevated to Permanent Positions at J&K High Court

The Central Government has confirmed the permanent appointment of Justices Yousuf Wani, Rajesh Sekhri, and Wasim Sadiq as Judges of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court. Their elevation follows the recommendation by the Supreme Court Collegium earlier this year, recognizing their significant legal contributions and expertise.

The Central Government has taken a significant step in fortifying the Jammu and Kashmir High Court's judicial framework by officially confirming the permanent appointment of three distinguished judges. Justices Yousuf Wani, Rajesh Sekhri, and Wasim Sadiq have transitioned from Additional to Permanent Judges, as notified by the Ministry of Law and Justice.

The move is a direct outcome of a recommendation by the Supreme Court Collegium, which convened on March 5 to endorse the elevation of these justices, acknowledging their exemplary service and contributions to the legal field. The appointments were made under the constitutional guidance of Article 217, empowering the President to exercise this pivotal judicial discretion.

Justice Yousuf Wani, whose career spans over three decades, began his judicial journey in 1990 and has excelled through various judicial roles. Similarly, Justice Rajesh Sekhri and Justice Wasim Sadiq Nargal have been recognized for their relentless pursuit of justice and legal expertise.
