Uttarakhand's Crackdown: Dhami Targets Illegal Madrasas

In a decisive move, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has launched a rigorous campaign against illegally operating madrasas in the state. Within a fortnight, authorities have sealed over 52 madrasas following Dhami's directives.

Acting swiftly, 12 such institutions were shut down in Vikasnagar, Dehradun, and another nine in Khatima on Monday. The Chief Minister's Office confirmed earlier action against 31 madrasas across various districts.

The campaign aims to dismantle a long-existing network of illegal religious schools believed to be destabilizing communal harmony. Dhami has issued a stern warning against any attempts to disrupt the state's order, indicating a robust approach to upholding legal and societal norms.
