The Delhi government has committed substantial resources to its social security sector, earmarking Rs 10,047 crore for initiatives aimed at supporting various communities.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta emphasized the need to ensure that development benefits reach every section of society. The budget is set to benefit over 9.50 lakh individuals, including senior citizens, women in distress, and persons with disabilities, through schemes such as the Palna Creche Scheme and the Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2 Scheme.
Additional allocations include Rs 5 crore for the rehabilitation of the homeless and the introduction of the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Stipend Scheme to empower Scheduled Caste students. The comprehensive approach focuses on inclusive growth by addressing social welfare alongside economic development.
