India Conducts Nationwide Blackouts and Military Strikes in Bold Security Initiative

India undertakes coordinated civil defense mock drills with blackouts across major cities while executing Operation Sindoor, targeting terror sites in Pakistan. In a concerted move to test national preparedness against emergencies, several Indian states experienced scheduled blackouts on Wednesday. The Ministry of Home Affairs spearheaded this civil defense exercise, which saw iconic locations such as Rashtrapati Bhavan and Raj Bhavan enshrouded in darkness. The aim was to bolster the nation's readiness for potential threats.

The blackout drill extended to various cities including Barmer, Gwalior, Surat, Shimla, and Patna, reflecting a comprehensive evaluation of local response measures. Concurrently, in a separate but related development, the Indian Armed Forces launched 'Operation Sindoor,' a decisive military action targeting terrorist infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 civilian lives, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh detailed the precision strikes conducted on nine terror camps. Selected targets ensured minimal civilian risk. Col Sofiya Qureshi showcased destruction footage, highlighting sites linked to notorious figures like David Headley. This operation underscores India's intent to restore order and deliver justice amidst ongoing regional tensions.
