In a pivotal move under the Aarogya Maitri project, the Government of India is set to deploy BHISHM Cubes at the borders of Jammu and Kashmir. As revealed by officials on Thursday, HLL Lifecare Ltd., a Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Union Health Ministry, is spearheading the procurement and deployment for this initiative aimed at boosting emergency medical response and disaster management in the region.

The BHISHM Cubes, designed to treat up to 200 casualties, are geared towards rapid response in emergencies, boasting advanced medical tools. These portable hospitals will serve as crucial facilities at the Jammu and Kashmir borders, especially in times of humanitarian crises or natural disasters. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement of the Aarogya Maitri project underscores India's commitment to extending essential medical aid worldwide.

The innovative BHISHM project involves compact, easily deployable cubes manufactured in India, equipped to handle an array of injuries including gunshots, burns, and more. With a focus on resource independence, these units can provide crucial surgical and emergency care. Recently, HLL Lifecare Ltd conducted extensive training for 300-400 doctors to ensure they are proficient in using the cube's facilities for optimal patient care.
