Tensions Surge: Pakistan's Missile Strikes on Jammu Thwarted

In a significant escalation of hostilities, Pakistan launched a series of Hamas-style missile attacks on multiple regions in Jammu, defense sources confirmed on Thursday. Eight missiles targeted the Satwari, Samba, RS Pura, and Arnia sectors of Jammu were intercepted by Indian air defense units, thwarting potential devastation, according to defense authorities. Additional military actions included the interception of Pakistani drones over Udhampur, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, and the enforced blackouts in regions like Bikaner and Jalandhar aimed at minimizing civilian risks.

Addressing the media, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri underscored that India is committed to responding proportionately to Pakistan's provocations. The original aggression, which began on April 22, led to India's precision strikes against terrorist camps across the border. While confirming the neutrality of Pakistan's Air Defense systems at Lahore, Indian officials maintained that measures so far have only targeted terrorist infrastructure, despite Pakistan's intensified cross-border artillery fire, which resulted in civilian casualties.
