On Monday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was set to initiate the much-anticipated discussion on Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha, an issue garnering significant attention as India's strategic military response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack. Backing the Defence Minister were key figures from the ruling party, including External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and BJP Vice-President Baijayant Panda.

Opposition members, led by Congress' Gaurav Gogoi, eagerly awaited the opportunity to scrutinize the government's actions regarding Operation Sindoor. However, the session was repeatedly interrupted by adjournments, fueled by opposition protests. Despite assurances from Lok Sabha Speaker OM Birla about the discussion taking place, delays persisted.

As tensions rose, the opposition continued their protests, demanding an immediate debate. Meanwhile, Speaker OM Birla urged members to participate constructively. He voiced his frustration over the adjournments while notable leaders like Rahul Gandhi and Kiren Rijiju highlighted the necessity of steering clear from rhetoric, urging members to focus on the pressing matters at hand.
