INDIA Bloc Protests Electoral Roll Revision; Amit Shah to Extend Manipur's President's Rule

The INDIA bloc is set to protest against the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Bihar at Makkar Dwar within the Parliament complex on Wednesday. The protest, scheduled for 10:30 am, highlights the bloc's discontent with the electoral process revisions underway in the state.

In parallel political developments, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to propose a resolution in the Lok Sabha to extend President's Rule in the state of Manipur. This measure, put in place after Chief Minister N Biren Singh's resignation in February amidst ethnic violence, will be extended for six more months following approval, marking continued central oversight till February 2026.

Simultaneously, legislative matters such as the Merchant Shipping Bill, 2024, discussed by Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, aim to align Indian maritime laws with global standards.
