Uttarakhand CM Approves Major Financial Initiatives Benefiting Farmers and Infrastructure

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has sanctioned the enhancement of dearness allowance for state government employees and autonomous bodies, as per the latest pay commission recommendations. According to a press release, this change will take effect from January 1, 2025, raising the fifth pay scale allowance from 455% to 466% and the sixth pay band from 246% to 252%.

The Chief Minister has also allocated Rs 40 crore as a starting fund for a comprehensive Rs 516 crore slope stabilisation project focused on the disaster-prone area of Joshimath in Chamoli district. Additionally, Rs 200 crore has been earmarked through redistribution, in anticipation of central government support for the Jal Jeevan Mission initiative.

Further approvals by CM Dhami include Rs 40.49 crore for the construction of 'Devbhoomi Silver Jubilee Park' across 52 urban sites, as well as substantial funds to support various water and infrastructure schemes. Notably, the release of the 20th instalment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana by PM Narendra Modi, providing over Rs 184 crore to assist more than eight lakh farmers in Uttarakhand, was also celebrated.
