In a significant move, the Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) has recommended the promotion of 11 chief general managers to executive director positions across various public sector banks. These recommendations come after a rigorous interview process involving 80 candidates held between July 19 and August 4, 2025.
Based on candidates' performance and experience, the FSIB has put forward names such as Amit Kumar Srivastava and Mini T M among others to fill executive director slots in the upcoming fiscal year 2025-26. This panel is contingent on the availability of vacancies and seeks to strengthen leadership in major banks.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will make the final decision on these nominations. The FSIB is helmed by Bhanu Pratap Sharma, ex-Secretary of the Department of Personnel and Training, supported by notable financial leaders.
