Heavy monsoon rains have wreaked havoc in parts of India, triggering floods that have submerged residential areas and roads in Bihar's Patna district, disrupting normal life. The swollen Ganga and Sone rivers have inundated the Danapur area, compelling the administration to initiate relief and evacuation measures.
Subdivision Officer Divya Shakti, speaking with ANI, stated, "Boats have been arranged for the evacuation of residents from affected homes and relief centers are prepared." Additionally, Gandhi Park in Maner has been designated for housing cattle, ensuring their safety and provision of fodder.
In Uttar Pradesh, Varanasi is grappling with floodwaters, exacerbated by overflowing drainage systems. This has led to fears of disease outbreaks, including dengue, as expressed by residents. Meanwhile, Uttarakhand's Uttarkashi district is dealing with flash floods and landslides after a cloudburst, which has blocked key roads. The National Disaster Response Force is on the ground executing rescue operations.
