The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for Haryana, forecasting thunderstorms, lightning, and rain in numerous districts. This warning was announced on Monday, highlighting the potential for adverse weather conditions in the region.
According to IMD officials, moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning is expected in districts including Sampla, Rohtak, Kharkhoda, and others. Meanwhile, light rain is predicted in areas such as Firozpur Jhirka, Nuh, Gurugram, and Faridabad.
IMD Scientist Surinder Paul noted that while heavy downpours are not anticipated, showers will continue until August 20 with a brief dip in intensity expected around August 21-22. However, Paul warned that the monsoon will regain strength post-August 23, potentially leading to waterlogging concerns, especially in southern Haryana like Gurugram. Residents are urged to remain cautious and take precautionary measures.
