Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan, the National Democratic Alliance's candidate for Vice President, paid a visit to former Prime Minister and JDS leader HD Deve Gowda in Delhi. Deve Gowda expressed his delight at Radhakrishnan's nomination and praised his extensive experience as a governor of various states.
Radhakrishnan, who was accompanied by several Union Ministers, including Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh, filed his nomination papers for the upcoming Vice Presidential election on Wednesday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded Radhakrishnan, stating that he would be an 'outstanding' Vice President and contribute significantly to national progress.
Meanwhile, the opposition, under Congress leadership, has put forward Sudershan Reddy as the candidate representing the INDIA bloc. The Vice Presidential election, set for September 9, is shaping up to be an ideological battle, as highlighted by Congress's Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, who are rallying behind Reddy.
