Himachal Pradesh is leading a groundbreaking natural farming initiative involving over 222,893 farmers cultivating diverse crops on 38,437 hectares across 3,584 panchayats, officials reported on Tuesday.
The state government is intensifying efforts to bolster the rural economy, planning to integrate an additional one lakh farmers by 2025-26 through extensive natural farming training programs that have trained 3.06 lakh farmers and horticulturists to date.
Offering the highest Minimum Support Price in India for natural produce, Himachal Pradesh is setting new benchmarks with initiatives like the 'Him-Bhog' brand, seven Farmer-Producer Companies, and the CETARA-NF certification system to ensure quality and transparency in agricultural practices.
