Iran Receives First Caspian Wheat Shipment in Three Years

Iran recently received its first shipment of wheat from Caspian countries in three years. The 30,000-ton shipment was delivered to Amirabad port in Mazandaran province, marking a significant trade occurrence. Major wheat producers in the region include Russia and Kazakhstan, alongside Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan.

In a noteworthy development, Iran has successfully received its first wheat shipment from Caspian region countries after a hiatus of three years. The 30,000 tons of foreign wheat was delivered to Amirabad port in the northern Mazandaran province, as reported by the semi-official Tasnim news agency.

This shipment marks a significant trade event for Iran, which had paused such imports from the Caspian region since 2020. The wheat is set to be moved to provincial silos for further distribution.

The Caspian region, known for its wheat production, includes Russia and Kazakhstan as key exporters, along with Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, contributing to the regional grain supply chain.
