The Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana Scheme (PMGSY) is significantly impacting remote villages in Rajouri by enhancing connectivity and accessibility. According to Engineer Mohd Ashrif, the ongoing 12-kilometer road project, which commenced its second phase, is slated for completion before the cold winter temperatures set in. 'The total road length is 12 km, with an estimated cost of Rs 10.98 crore,' he informed ANI.

Engineer Ashrif further elaborated on the initial challenges faced by the team due to inadequate road infrastructure, asserting that upon completion, the project will significantly enhance transportation in the region. He emphasized the importance of timely completion by stating, 'It will approximately take a month to complete... We aim to finish it before the temperature drops...It will bring development to the area by improving transportation facilities. Now, school buses can reach areas that were previously inaccessible.'

Local resident Mohd Aatif expressed his gratitude: 'The road work has immensely eased our lives; previously, we had to walk 12-13 km for everyday needs. Our children used to trek this distance to school daily, but now school buses conveniently pick them up from our doorsteps.' Another resident noted, 'Where we once carried patients to hospitals on bedsteads during emergencies, an ambulance can now be called promptly.' The Rs 10.98 crore road project, extending from Dhangri to Gunni Road, is seen as a savior by locals, improving access to schools, hospitals, and fostering economic growth by expanding business opportunities in the area. The initiative aims to upgrade rural roads, enhancing the quality of life for residents.
