Zubeen Garg Death Case: New Developments Unfold

The Assam Police are set to present five of the seven suspects in court regarding the case of Zubeen Garg, a famed Assamese singer, who died under mysterious circumstances on September 19, 2025. Law enforcement officials have tightened security as they prepare to hand over the custody of the individuals in Guwahati on Wednesday.

Special DGP (CID) Munna Prasad Gupta spoke to ANI, confirming the completion of police custody for five suspects. Gupta elaborated, saying two witnesses are already at the CID office with a third expected soon, bringing the witness total to ten. He mentioned that the team is awaiting a response regarding an investigation process in Singapore.

The case has recently expanded to include three NRIs from Singapore, who arrived to record their statements. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) aims to submit the post-mortem report shortly. Allegations of Zubeen Garg being poisoned have emerged, adding complexity to the investigation as key suspects, including Shyamkanu Mahanta and Siddharth Sharma, await court proceedings.
