Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid tribute to the courageous police officers who sacrificed their lives during a solemn Police Commemoration Day ceremony. In a social media post, CM Dhami lauded their bravery and dedication, acknowledging their role in inspiring others with their commitment to duty and public service.
He stated, "On this Police Commemoration Day, I offer my heartfelt salutations to the police personnel who gave their lives in the line of duty while maintaining peace, harmony, and the safety of our nation. Their valor stands as an inspiration to us all, demonstrating unwavering service in times of crisis." The day is marked annually on October 21, remembering the ten policemen killed by the Chinese Army at Hot Springs, Ladakh, in 1959.
Earlier, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh underscored the importance of cohesion between the Army and police in ensuring national security. At the National Police Memorial event in New Delhi, he emphasized the shared spirit of these forces, recognizing their critical roles in safeguarding the country against both internal and external threats.
