On Wednesday, U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer addressed growing concerns over foreign beef imports. This comes in the wake of President Donald Trump's proposal to increase imports from Argentina amidst rising beef prices.

In an interview with CNBC, Greer was clear in dispelling fears of a potential flood of foreign beef into the United States. 'I do not see a world where there's some huge, you know, millions and millions of metric tons flooding into this market,' he stated.

The reassurance aims to calm the nerves of U.S. farmers worried about market disruptions despite the President's recent suggestions of increased beef imports. Greer emphasized that such a dramatic increase in imports isn't on the current agenda.
