Manipur's Bishnupur District Gears Up for Secure Harvesting Season

In Manipur's Bishnupur district, authorities convened a meeting on Friday to strategize the secure and peaceful execution of harvesting activities in the foothill regions, alongside rehabilitation efforts for internally displaced persons (IDPs). An official revealed that the harvesting process will be conducted from 6:30 am to 4 pm under tight security measures.
Deputy Commissioner Pooja Elangbam spearheaded the meeting, where she highlighted the crucial role of seamless cooperation among security agencies to ensure the harvesting season progresses without disturbances.
As the peaceful harvest began in some border areas, Elangbam called upon officials to provide maximum support for safe crop collection and solicited concerted efforts for the rapid rehabilitation of IDPs, noting that locations for resettlement have been identified by security forces.
