Iraq Seeks OPEC Quota Revision Amid Higher Production Capacity

Iraq is in talks to revise its OPEC oil production quota, which stands at 4.4 million barrels per day, despite having a capacity of 5.5 million. Oil Minister Hayan Abdel-Ghani emphasized Iraq's steadfastness in adhering to the current quota during a recent oil conference.

Iraq is presently engaging in negotiations to reassess its OPEC oil production quota. This decision comes as the nation possesses a higher capacity of 5.5 million barrels per day compared to the current quota of 4.4 million bpd. The discussions were confirmed by Iraq's oil minister, Hayan Abdel-Ghani, at an oil conference held on Monday.

Despite having a considerably larger production capacity, Iraq has maintained its adherence to the existing OPEC quota, as reiterated by Abdel-Ghani. The oil minister highlighted that the review aims to better align production capabilities with quota allocations.
