In a clarifying statement on Monday, Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara underscored that any leadership changes or cabinet reshuffles in the state are ultimately decided by the Congress High Command. Speculations have been rife after MLC Yathindra Siddaramaiah, son of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, suggested Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi as a potential successor.

G Parameshwara further explained that no indications have been received from the Congress High Command regarding any imminent changes. He mentioned that discussions might evolve after the Bihar election results, when the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister plan to consult with central party leadership in Delhi.

Yathindra sparked debates by claiming his father, Siddaramaiah, will complete his term and mentoring Satish Jarkiholi to lead those aligned with Congress's ideological stances post-2028. His statements have drawn criticism from Congress MLA Shivaganga Basavaraj, emphasizing that leadership choices reside with the high command, not individual family decisions.
