In a heated political exchange, Congress MP Pramod Tiwari on Monday accused the BJP of attempting to undermine the voting rights of marginalized groups through the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists. He stressed that leading opposition figures, including Rahul Gandhi, are committed to defending Constitutional rights against such alleged tactics.

Tiwari challenged the impartiality of the SIR process, calling for transparency regarding potential infiltrators in Bihar and asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah should resign if discrepancies are found. The Election Commission is set to disclose details about the nationwide voter list revision in a press conference at 4:15 pm Monday.

Conversely, BJP leader Pratul Shah Deo defended the SIR, championing the Election Commission's integrity and the necessity of the voter list updates to ensure free and fair elections. Deo criticized opposition claims as fearmongering, suggesting their resistance to the revision indicates a fear of exposing election inconsistencies. He called upon all political entities to support the Commission's efforts in maintaining electoral fairness.
