The Indian Navy is preparing to commission its indigenously crafted survey vessel, Ikshak, at the Naval Base on November 6, according to a statement from the Defence PRO.

Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff, will preside over the event, marking the formal induction of the third vessel in the Survey Vessel (Large) class. The commissioning signifies a critical milestone in India's pursuit of hydrographic excellence and indigenisation.

Constructed by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd in Kolkata, Ikshak boasts over 80% indigenous content, underscoring the Navy's dedication to self-reliance.
