Ukraine Intensifies Drone Strikes on Russian Energy Infrastructure

Ukraine has escalated its drone assaults on Russian energy infrastructure, targeting Moscow and other regions, as part of a campaign to undermine Russia's war economy. No casualties were reported, though several locations, including oil and chemical plants, were attacked, prompting temporary airport closures.

In a renewed attempt to weaken Russia's war economy, Ukraine has increased its drone attacks on Russian energy infrastructure, targeting both Moscow and other strategic locations across the country. The Russian defense ministry reported the overnight destruction of 100 Ukrainian drones, including six in the Moscow region.

The intense assault disrupted air traffic nationwide, forcing the temporary closure of several airports. A storage container in Simferopol, Crimea, filled with fuel and lubricants, was hit by a Ukrainian drone, igniting a fire. Despite extensive attacks, including strikes near industrial facilities, no casualties have been reported so far.

Among the targets was the Budyonnovsk industrial zone in Stavropol, believed to include a chemical plant operated by Lukoil. Russia provided limited details on the damage, although they confirmed downing multiple drones. Meanwhile, Ukraine continues its long-range drone strategy in an effort to bring the conflict closer to Russian territories.
